NATO Innovation Fund on liftoff: the first European private company reaching orbit

For decades, European companies have built extraordinary satellites, telescopes and space science programs but have steered clear of getting into orbit.

Patrick Schneider Sikorsky is a Partner at the NATO Innovation Fund. Previously, Patrick was a founder and partner at Beast Ventures, and he worked in foreign policy and spent several years in the corporate intelligence and security industry where he supported international companies operating in Central and Eastern Europe.

David Ordonez is a Senior Associate at the NATO Innovation Fund. Prior to joining the NIF, David was in the field of Formula 1 engineering, where he has held various operational roles – from developing and integrating new technology into wind tunnel systems to designing a race-winning car. During his longest stint at Alpine, he worked on bringing data insights to optimize the car’s performance and worked with the fastest drivers in the world to come out on top during race weekends.
