Wild Australian Crime Story Takes A Turn You Won’t See Coming
Bridgette and Paula Powers shared frighteningly similar accounts of a carjacking incident in Queensland.

Australian identical twins Bridgette Powers and Paula Powers have gone viral after they shared in-sync accounts about an alleged armed carjacking incident they witnessed in Queensland. (You can watch the clip below)
The sisters ― in a clip shared by 7 News Queensland that has over 3.2 million views on X, formerly Twitter ― spoke in unison about how their mother and another man quickly jumped into action after an SUV rolled on Steve Irwin Way.
“And one guy, he was up there with our mom and he, he went up there and he was coming back down toward us and he goes, ‘Run, he’s got a gun,’” said the twins ― both wearing identical blue bunny-themed shirts ― of the man’s encounter with the carjacker as he emerged from the wreck.
“And oh, our hearts started to pound and I said, ‘Mom, where’s mom?’”
The two went on to recall how their mom went to check on the well-being of the carjacker, who had “blood all over his face,” before he threatened to shoot her.
“And mom distracted him to make him look the other way and he looked the other way and mom ran into the bush behind the fence and the guy goes to her, ‘I’ll find you and I’ll shoot you,’” the twins said.
The Powers sisters, known for their wildlife rescue work in Australia, have spoken in step with one another during previous interviews.
In a 2021 feature shared by Australia’s ABC News, the twins recalled a chance encounter with the “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, who was reportedly “quite taken with them” when he ran into them comforting a sick green sea turtle that was found floating in the Pumicestone Passage waterway in Queensland.
The twins ― who’d go on to work at the Australian Zoo and now run their Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue charity ― told the outlet that it’s “natural” for them to speak in unison, adding that they know it’s “weird” to people.
“Our brains must think alike at the same time,” said the twins, adding that it annoys “a lot of people” but changing the way they speak “doesn’t feel right to us at all.”
Social media users were mesmerized by the news clip.
