Halifax ‘speak to us today’ message for anyone with a bank account
Signs have been put up in branches about the changes
Customers with Halifax and Lloyds Bank may want to check over their accounts. The update comes as key changes have taken effect impact all customers.
A sign was spotted in the window of the Lloyds Bank branch in Devizes, in Wiltshire on Sunday, June 21. The message read: “Hello Halifax customers? Did you know? You can use Lloyds branches to manage your Halifax account. Speak to us today.”
Lloyds Banking Group, which owns both Lloyds Bank and Halifax as well as Bank of Scotland, was asked about what this relates to. The group confirmed that as of last year, all of its branches are now open for any of its customers, whichever brand they bank with.
With this change, this means that some customers can get in-person help at a branch that is closer to where they live than they previously could. This expansion built on the bank chain previously helping customers of all its brands through its phone services, and it has offered this service for some time.
Lloyds statement
A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: “We’re always looking for ways to make banking easier and more flexible for our customers, so last year we offered Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers the option to use branches of any brand for their in-person banking, alongside our apps, mobile messaging, and telephone services.”
Lloyds Banking Group also has 170 Community Bankers, who can help with banking services and account support in areas where there is no longer a local branch. Each banker has a dedicated space in a community venue or at a banking hub.
